Registering Images in Manga Studio 5
Step 1: Open an Image
Open the image you would like to use as a pattern in Manga Studio 5.
Step 2: Select the image
Hit ctrl + a or hit Selection>Select All at the top of the screen. Then choose Edit>Register Image as Material.
Step 3: Set the Material Properties
This Material Property Window tells Manga Studio what you would like this Material to do. In his case, I want this image to be a repeated pattern. So I select Tiling. I save it in Material>Color Pattern>Other. At the bottom right there is an option to add tags so that you can find this pattern more easily in your Materials later. And that's it! After you hit OK your image should show up in your Materials folder and you should be able to use it in images to your hearts content!
Note: Please keep in mind that you cannot export a pattern from Manga Studio 5 like you can a brush. If you want to keep a copy of your pattern, material, etc, you need to save a copy of the image in a .lip or .png file. That way if you want to give it to someone else or move it to another pc you can do so. You will have to repeat this process on that PC..
